One of the best things about UCSD, at least as far as LJ goes, is that the downtown village of LJ isn't "right there.". Yes that cuts both ways bc more civilization might be nice. But, it's an old, white, conservative, car crazy town. La Jolla is full of mean, snooty, racist, rich and usually old and white people.
